What is a sound bath?
A sound bath is a guided relaxation and meditation experience in which participants rest comfortably while listening to the sounds and vibrations of instruments such as crystal singing bowls, metal singing bowls, Koshi chimes, handpan, and other resonant instruments. The mission of Step into Stillness is to give sound baths that support deep relaxation, mindfulness, stress reduction, and a sense of rest and restoration. What you experience in a sound bath
In our sound baths, you will be guided first through a few minutes of slow, intentional breath or movement to relax your body. Then you will lie down or sit in the posture of your choice for 30- 60 minutes, depending on the class, while the facilitator begins to play the sound healing instruments.
Experience a live soundscape that washes over you, as soothing singing bowls, soft drumming, rain sticks and chimes blend together in harmony. An opportunity to rest, reset, and restore inner balance.
-
Wear loose, comfortable clothing. Bring a yogamat or blanket to lie on. Option to bring a pillow, a blanket to place over your body, eye pillow and water bottle.
-
A sound bath can offer a deeply relaxing experience for both the body and mind. Many people leave feeling calmer, more grounded, and mentally refreshed, with a sense of spaciousness and ease. The deep relaxation that occurs during a sound bath may also support restful sleep and a more positive outlook. After your experience, give yourself a little time to integrate—drink plenty of water, journal, reflect, or simply enjoy a few quiet moments before returning to the busyness of everyday life.
-
Depending on the class, anywhere from 15 to 60 minutes.
-
I use a blend of Quartz Crystal singing bowls, Tibetan metal bowls, chimes, drums, gongs and rainsticks. Each and every sound bath is different and I compose different live sound experiences for each sound bath class.
-
I teach Vinyasa, Hatha, Restorative and Yin Yoga.
Vinyasa means ‘to place in a special way’ with the intention to arrange or link poses together in what is commonly known as a ‘yoga flow’
Vinyasa teaches us to move through yoga asana in a thoughtful way, that the steps we take in yoga lead us in an intentional way towards strengthening our yoga practice. I teach both strengthening vinyasa classes and slow, healing flow vinyasa classes.
Hatha yoga is poses (asana) done with the intention and end goal of moving the body toward meditation practice.
Yin is a slower, meditative style of yoga that involves holding poses for longer periods. Yin yoga targets deep connective tissues and compliments more active workouts as a rest and recovery.

"After experiencing significant benefits from sound healing in my own life, I became fascinated by research into brain wave states and binaural beats. I take a trauma-informed and science-based approach, which focuses on stress reduction, better sleep, and improving physical and mental well-being. My goal is to help others experience similar benefits in their own lives."

“I had a wonderful sound bath experience with Lisa. From the moment I walked in, the room was beautifully set up and I immediately felt myself start to relax. During the sound bath I felt comfortable and at peace. Time totally melted away and I was able to process a lot of built up energy and emotions. I can’t wait for my next session! ”
TESTIMONIALS
“The chakra balancing was powerful and almost immediately put me into a space where I could feel things I have been holding onto. It was a safe space to give attention to things that needed it and let go of what isn’t part of my purpose. I greatly enjoyed the experience and would love to attend more sessions.”
ABOUT LISA TYNAN YOGA, SOUND HEALING, MEDITATION
IN holistic yoga practice, we tap into our connection with self, finding peace and acceptance.
a holistic approach to yoga
Yoga is not about perfecting postures or attaining the perfect shape. it’s a way to explore and understand how our bodies move and function.
The more holistic goals of yoga include discovering who you really are beyond this body and mind. Yoga invites us to question the labels and limitations that we place on ourselves, or others & society. Yoga is an opportunity to practice self-reflection and self-inquiry. It is a therapeutic practice that, when practiced safely, can provide healing benefits. I incorporate holistic aspects of yoga when I work with my students. We cover and practice yoga poses (asana) and breathwork (pranayama) along with opportunities for meditation.
